Vacancies for various Fostering Panel Positions
We are currently seeking self-employed, independent individuals to recruit to various positions to join our fostering panel which sits monthly on Saturdays for a half or a full day. The panel meetings are held at our City Centre Office in Leicester.
Registered Fostering Manager
Full time: 37 hours per week (you will be expected to work evenings and weekends as and when required by the business)
Salary: £55,000 per annum
Acorn Fostering Services is looking to recruit a Fostering Manager to effectively manage and develop all services run by the agency in line with the regulations, business objectives and processes, to ensure all services meet the expectations of commissioners, customers and regulatory bodies.
The postholder will also be expected to pursue new business opportunities where appropriate, market those opportunities and contribute to the development of the overall business.

Acorn Fostering Services Ltd is an independent fostering agency operating mainly in the Midland region. We are seeking experienced Independent Form F assessors to undertake Form F assessments for prospective carers all areas of the Midlands and surrounding Counties.
As a qualified and registered social worker, you will have proven experience of carrying out assessments of potential foster carers. A good knowledge of fostering regulations, child care law and safeguarding issues is essential. You will have excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to high quality practice.

Supervising Social Worker
Acorn Fostering Services is an Independent Fostering Agency based in Leicester and operating across Midlands and north of England.
We are looking for a Supervising Social Worker with experience of working in fostering to join our team in Leicester.
Hours: 37 per week
Salary: £25,999 per annum pro rata to £35,999 per annum pro rata depending upon the experience.
You will be involved in Supervising, training, recruiting and supporting foster carers and promoting the welfare of children placed with us.
You must be a qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England and have a valid driving licence and access to a car for travel. The successful candidate will require an enhanced DBS clearance.

Foster Panel chair
You will play a vital role in the quality assurance of our service, working closely with the Panel Advisor and administrator to ensure the smooth running of the fostering panel process.
Remuneration for chair: £350 for a full day panel and £230 for a half day panel including reading and administration time.
Foster Panel Vice chair
Remuneration for vice chair: normal panel member rate £210 for a full day panel and £140 for a half day panel including reading and administration time. On the days when vice chair chairs the panel they will be remunerated at the Chair’s rate.

Guidance for various positions For Fostering Panel
- Due to the under-representation of male members on our panels, we are particularly interested in applications for male members.
- Panel members will only be recruited within reasonable travelling distance and preferably from within the local community. However, we do conduct most of our panel via Microsoft teams and you must be able to facilitates that.
- Induction training is provided for all Panel Members and further training is arranged at least annually. Candidates would need to commit to attendance at Panels as agreed with the Agency.
